According to David Quagliaroli, Vice President of DRAGIN Drilling, the factors at The Gurnet have plagued well drillers for years, but the DRAGIN Drilling method offers hope to area residents whose attempts at obtaining quality well water have failed.

The DRAGIN Drilling method relies upon use of a proprietary ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) which provides easy, quick access to the land, along with a site-specific testing process that measures a well's potential yield prior to actual well installation.

The "yield test" will reveal the best depth for the setting of the well. "This provides significantly higher odds of a well's success than simply trying a number of locations and leaving it to chance that the well will not run dry," said Quagliaroli.

The firm has completed a half dozen wells on the remote beach site, and all have operated successfully. Quagliaroli urged all homeowners with a private well, particularly in areas such as The Gurnet and Saquish, to have their water tested at least once a year.
